Originally devised by Piero Fornasetti in the fifties, the intricate 'Coromandel' design reflects his interest in natural forms, floral decorations, leaves and small animals, which combine to reveal a meticulous taste for exoticism. In fact, the word 'Coromandel?' is the name of the Indian coast where screens and other furniture from China were loaded onto ships carrying goods to Europe, contributing to the taste for exoticism. Later this was called Chinoiserie, which began to develop in the 18th century. Using the usual time-honored artisanal techniques eponymous with Fornasetti, this design shines bright in hand-applied gold against a background of Tiffany blue to amplify the colours with astonishing brilliance. Inspired by the lush garden flora which surrounds the Fornasetti house in Milan, and the floral imagery created by Piero Fornasetti, Flora is a fresh, elegant blend bursting with the familiar scent of Iris, Jasmine and Tuberose weaved effortlessly together with Lily of the Valley and trailing green Ivy. This unmistakable combination of flowers and foliage floats through the air like a beautiful spring bouquet.
Each wax candle is hand-poured vegetable wax, housed in a decorative ceramic vessel with a 60 hour burn time. Make sure you do not burn candles for longer that 4 hours as a time.
